A single-herb liquid extract of dried herb of Euphrasia officinalis, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Eyebright is a tiny annual of European chalk grassland and it is a part-time parasite: its roots find the roots of nearby grasses, tap into them with specialised organs, and draw off water and minerals while still photosynthesising for itself. That is why it cannot be grown in a pot on its own. The flower is white with fine purple veins running out from a yellow blotch on the lower lip, and it was that pattern — read as a bloodshot eye — that gave the plant its name in a dozen languages.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Not for use in pregnancy. Do not put this or any tincture into the eye.
